SoftType: ChangeProposal

Represents a proposed change to a product and its product configuration information.

The change may be in response to one or more problem reports.

It is a record of an investigation, and impact analysis, and then a proposal or request for a change. Several alternative solutions could be proposed. If that is the case then there is one "Master" change proposal that relates to the alternative solutions.

The proposal does not change the actual product configuration information. It is only a proposal. The actual change to the product configuration is performed by the change notice.

Change proposals are also referred to other systems as: ChangeRequests or EngineeringChangeRequests

Properties

The properties for the SoftType are described in the following tabbed displays:

Properties The public properties of the SoftType instance that can be set and modified by the user or by data import.
Meta data Meta data about the SoftType instance that are set by the ShareAspace application.

acknowledgements [0..*] : AcknowledgementReference

The set of acknowledgements of the change proposal. This could be an acknowledgment that the change proposal has been registered, or has been read by a supplier.

alternativeChangeProposals [0..*] : ChangeProposal

The set of alternative change proposals.

Several alternative solutions could be proposed. If that is the case then there is one "Master" change proposal that relates to the alternative solutions. The alternative change proposals are the alternatives grouped by the Master change proposal.

approval [0..1] : ApprovalReference

The approval of the change proposal.

associatedItems [0..*] : ActivityInputReference

The set of items in addition to the affectedItems and problemItems that are relevant to the proposed change.

businessImpact [0..1] : ChangeBusinessImpact

The anticipated impact that the change will have on the operation of the business.

changeActions [0..*] : ChangeAction

The set of activities that implement the change.

completionDate [0..1] : DateTimeAssignment

The date and time on which the change proposal was completed.

contract [0..1] : Contract

The contract under which the change proposal has been or is to be developed.

dateRaised [0..1] : DateTimeAssignment

The date and time on which the change proposal was raised.

Note that the date on which the change proposal was approved is part of the approval object.

description [0..1] : String

A text based description of the change proposal.

developedBy [0..1] : OrganizationReference

The organization that developed the change proposal.

documents [0..*] : SupportingDocument

The set of documents that detail the change proposal.

Note: If the subject of the change proposal is a document, then the documents should be referenced as a problemItem or impactedItem.

id [1] : String

The identifier for the change proposal. The identifier string provides an unambiguous reference to the change proposal in ShareAspace.

impactedAreas [0..*] : ChangeImpactedArea

The anticipated impact that the change will have on the operation of some areas/disciplines.

impactedItems [0..*] : ActivityInputReference

The set of items that will be affected by the proposed change.

justifications [0..*] : ChangeJustificationType

A set of pre-defined reasons for the change.

name [0..1] : String

The name of the change proposal is a human readable label used to refer to the change proposal. The name is not an identifier and so does not uniquely identify a change proposal element in ShareAspace.

origin [0..1] : OriginatingSystem

The origin of the change proposal. If an origin is provided then the system representing the origin is the "master" system and the change proposal can only be updated via an input from that system. If no origin is provided, the origin is assumed to be ShareAspace and the change proposal can be edited in ShareAspace.

plannedAppliedDate [0..1] : DateTimeAssignment

The date and time at which it is planned that the change to the product or product configuration becomes effective i.e. is applied.

priority [0..1] : Priority

The prioritization that has been applied to addressing the change.

problemItems [0..*] : ActivityInputReference

The set of items that exhibit the problem or issue that the change addresses. The item is typically the end item.

problemReports [0..*] : ProblemReport

The set of problem reports that led to this change proposal.

project [0..1] : Project

The project that is responsible for the management of the change proposal.

raisedBy [0..1] : OrganizationReference

The organization that raised the change proposal

raisedByPerson [0..1] : PersonReference

The person that raised change proposal.

reasonForChange [0..1] : String

The name of the change notice is a human readable label used to refer to the change notice. The name is not an identifier and so does not uniquely identify a change notice element in ShareAspace.

relatedChangeProposals [0..*] : ChangeProposal

The set of related change proposals. These may be previous versions of the change proposal or other types of relationships.

resultingItems [0..*] : ActivityOutputReference

The set of items that have been created or changed as a consequence of the change proposal.

severity [0..1] : ChangeSeverity

The severity of the change.

status [0..1] : ChangeStatus

The status of the change proposal where the status represents the state, or stage within a process, of the change proposal at a particular time.

subChangeProposals [0..*] : ChangeProposal

The set of change proposals that are children of the change proposal in a hierarchy.

A change proposal may be decomposed to several related change proposals. E.g. A design, manufacturing and maintenance change.

systemDataSource [0..1] : SystemDataSource

The system from which the change proposal was loaded.

targetCompletionDate [0..1] : DateTimeAssignment

The date and time on which the change proposal is intended to completed by.

type [0..1] : ChangeType

The category of the change proposal.

compliant [1] : Boolean

A flag indicating if the Unit of Information is valid in regards to the SoftType data section and rules.

coOwners [0..*] : ObjectId

The list of internal ShareAspace key of Participants that have currently read write access to the object via a share pack.

coReaders [0..*] : ObjectId

The list of internal ShareAspace key of Participants that have currently read only access to the object via a share pack.

created [1] : DateTime

The date and time when the Unit of Information was created in the ShareAspace store.

creator [1] : String

The user that created the Unit of Information in the ShareAspace store.

lockedBy [0..1] : String

lockingHistory [0..*] : LockingHistory

oId [1] : ObjectId

The internal ShareAspace store key for the object instance.

owner [1] : ObjectId

The internal ShareAspace key of the Participant owning the object.

owningHistory [0..*] : OwnershipHistory

The historical record of owners for the object.

sharingHistory [0..*] : SharingHistory

The historical record of sharing information for the object.

softType [0..1] : String

The SoftType identifier associated with the Unit of Information.

transactionOn [1] : DateTime

The date and time when the last change on the Unit of Information was performed (anywhere in the Unit of Information) in the ShareAspace store.

updated [0..1] : DateTime

The date and time when the Unit of Information was updated in the ShareAspace store.

updater [0..1] : String

The last user that updated the Unit of Information in the ShareAspace store.
